About "the f words" Moving pictures from four female photographers
Birmingham Weekly
Glenny Brook It was a happy coincidence that when “the f words” opened at Space One Eleven earlier this month, it was during the week that the U.S. Supreme Court was talking about “the F-word.” At issue was the use of vulgar speech on regulated broadcast network, brought to court again in part because Cher dropped the so-called F-bomb during the 2004 Billboard Music Awards. Of course, the F in the gallery exhibition title couldn’t be less vulgar, seeing as it stands for female, fabulous and, phonetically, photographer. “The f words” features new and recent works by Karen Graffeo, Kim Reigel, Sonja Rieger and Carolyn Sherer, and will remain on display at Space One Eleven through Dec. 12. |
